I would describe my dish as:
A creative twist on Singapore’s iconic chilli crab, featuring succulent crab meat simmered in JUMBO Seafood Singapore Chilli Crab Paste and served in a crispy deep-fried spring roll pastry basket. The rich, savoury and mildly spicy sauce pairs perfectly with the light, crunchy pastry for a delightful combination of textures.
Optional Story:
As a chilli crab lover, I wanted to recreate one of Singapore's most famous dishes in a unique way. Instead of serving it traditionally, I transformed it into a crispy edible basket filled with crab meat cooked in JUMBO Seafood Singapore Chilli Crab Paste. The contrast between the crunchy pastry and rich chilli crab sauce makes every bite enjoyable. This dish celebrates Singapore flavours while adding a creative homemade touch.

crab meat
spring roll pastry sheets
Cooking oil for deep frying
1 tomato (optional, for garnish)

Here's how to cook it:
Deep fry the spring roll pastry sheets in hot oil until golden and crispy. Shape them into a basket while still warm and set aside.
Prepare the JUMBO Seafood Singapore Chilli Crab Paste according to the package instructions.
Add the crab meat into the sauce and simmer for 3–5 minutes until heated through and well coated.
Place the crispy pastry basket on a serving plate.
Pour the chilli crab and crab meat mixture into the basket.
Garnish with tomato flowers or fresh tomato slices and serve immediately while the pastry remains crispy.
